ICJA Attends “Justicia que Acompaña” Workshop

ICJA recently participated in the virtual workshop “Justicia que acompaña: Integrating differentiated approaches in supporting children and adolescents,” organised by GIZ México and the Federal Institute of Public Defence (IFDP) within the framework of the PROFEMEX project.

The workshop brought together legal advisors and public defenders to reflect on real cases, identify situations of vulnerability, and co-develop practical strategies grounded in empathy, active listening, and clear communication — all with the aim of strengthening the rights of children and adolescents within justice systems.

This initiative contributes to the development of the upcoming “Justice that Accompanies” Toolkit, as well as broader reviews of norms and practices for child-sensitive justice. The insights gathered will support efforts to ensure that access to justice for children is protective, human-centred, and responsive to their needs.

ICJA is grateful for the opportunity to engage in this important collective work and extends special thanks to GIZ México and the Federal Institute of Public Defence (IFDP) for the kind invitation.
