ICJA took part in the 32nd International Congress on Prevention and Response to Child Abuse and Sexual Violence, where ICJA was invited to contribute to a conversation on the evolution of child justice advocacy over the past decades.
The discussion was an opportunity to reflect on what “advocacy” means today in an increasingly complex and adverse geopolitical landscape. We also highlighted recent global developments such as the UNCRC General Comment 27 on Access to Justice and Remedies, and other international texts which places at its core the need to advance toward justice systems that are genuinely child-centred, fair, and protective.
ICJA extends its appreciation to the organisers for creating such a valuable space for dialogue, exchange, and collective reflection. This congress also provided an important moment to strengthen connections across different sectors working to uphold children’s rights.
